A place where Ancient Ancient armies can peacefully retire to...
Possibly.
Oh, and some pulp. A few things on 6mm SciFi tanks and stuff. And the toy soldiers. Especially the War of 1897... And now I seem to be starting on 20mm Napoleonics as well!

Amazon heavy infantry
The shield design is a variation of the stag I used on the heavy cavalry. The figures themselves are basically conversions of the S&S Range dancing slave girl with the spear arm and shield of a Garrison hoplite. The skirt is green stuff. Standard bearer is a slave girl with fan, all clothing is paint.
Again, armour is simply painted on.
I'm beginning to like the idea of the officer figure, spear and wearing a long skirt. That white mark on the skirt... looked on the figure and can't find it!
Well, once the masters are made and then a mould made, simply a matter of casting, painting and basing. I've done things in the past that were far crazier. At the time, buying Garrison - just that that one turned out to be one of the best things I've ever done!
A very fine unit, Rob. Nice pose on the spearwomen with the shield presented squarely towards the enemy. That white mark on the officer's skirt - think 'gloss paint'. You won't find that mark otherwise! cheesr, Ion
A fine looking unit, very nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteThank you - I do think they've turned out OK.
DeleteNicley done once more! The painted armour idea is working well.
ReplyDeleteThank you - yes, it is.
DeleteI love them Rob, but I dont think I will be copying your madness. Not this time.

Thank you. I get a lot of use out of some of the original '20mm' Ancients figures!
