A place where Ancient Ancient armies can peacefully retire to... Possibly. Oh, and some pulp. A few things on 6mm SciFi tanks and stuff. And the toy soldiers. Especially the War of 1897... And now I seem to be starting on 20mm Napoleonics as well! email GarrisonMiniatures@gmail.com

Update Admins pictures - Goblins and suchlike beasties
Rather than try and recover the pictures lost during the Great Wipeout I've deleted the Admins posts and I'll just repost some of the pictures. Starting with Goblinkind.

'S' Range Assyrians are now based.
This represents all the 'S' Range Assyrians that are ready - I'm still working on the extra chariots, there is at least one other spears unit lying around that I haven't seen for years and I will give them some of the Garrison Assyrian (my generic archers!) archers to act as light infantry.
The cavalry, including chariots, will probably be expanded in future. They better, I've already stripped the paint off 2 of the recruit chariots.
Likewise, at least 30 extra spearmen lying around somewhere. Also, I prefer units of 24 or 48 rather than 40 or so.
The lighter component just needs the addition of some light archers.
The levy will also be expanded in the future.,

Dragons and Eagles
I don't spent enough time on the Fantasy side, so a few toys to help redress the balance a bit. Toyshops are useful, and as part of my current basing marathon I based the toy dragons and some eagles I bought ages ago.
These two are the biggest so I've put them on 60mmx80mm bases - I think they'll always be fielded as dragons. The one headed dragon is really quite impressive.
That little blue dragon is my favourite. Chances are that the ones on 60mmx60mm bases will usually be fielded as flyers.
I suspect this will be the most used, either as part of or fighting against my Greeks when they are in Fantasy mode... thinking about a couple of 'Atlantis' scenarios. The original Atlantis, not the now cancelled TV series.
The eagles and hawks will be appearing in various Elvic armies. All I have to do is paint them up. And cast them.
Figures have all been based in my current style - buy a tub of filler, mix a load of acrylic paint in it, plaster onto a 2mm MDF base, plonk figure in the wet filler, smooth edges and allow to dry. In theory I should next paint or otherwise adorn the bases properly but I know I'm not going to really.

Greek Light Forces
Cavalry and light infantry are one way in which I'm trying to add 'National Characteristics' to my various Greek contingents. At the moment I'm working my way through basing some of these.
Over the years the Athenians were recorded as using both Thracian mercenaries and Scythians, although the Thracians hired for the trip to Sicily arrived too late and the Scythians were hired as a 'police force'. So these two groups were obvious ones to add and I've supplemented them with mercenary Greek archers - probably from Crete.
The Scythian horse archers have yet to be rebased and are also a lot nicer than the photo suggests!
Apart from hoplites I've given the Spartans a unit of heavy cavalry as 'bodyguard' - the hippeis - though in reality these would have acted as mounted infantry. For light infantry I've given them 4 units of low quality Helots, 3 of light javelins, 1 of slingers.

Returning to Grant
As the pictures still haven't reappeared, and as I can't remember which Charles Grant pictures I'd used, I just thought it would be easier to post a few anew... not in any particular order.
