Making the warwagon

Well, started on the warwagon, could possibly make 2 or even 3? - not sure yet.

The 'original' Cyrus version should be drawn by oxen, but Garrison don't make oxen so I'm using cataphract horses instead. Also, not as many animals - the thing has to fit on a 25mm DBX base.

Another card superstructure, this time on an upside down Assyrian chariot body. For wheels I'm going with Assyrian chariot wheels - had thought about using crude plank-style wagon wheels but think the Assyrian ones will look better.

    1. I don't think anyone has ever made the commercial figures to produce a Cyrian army - pity, because it comes under the fun side of the hobby.

  2. Jacklex make some nice 20mm oxen - available from Spencer Smith.

  3. It isn't really about having no oxen, it's more a case of no Garrison oxen and I'm trying to keep things Garrison - I could easily use some of the Minifigs Philistine ox cart oxen, or buy Irregular oxen - Garrison 20mm are really 'true' 25mm anyway, they match Minifigs 'S' Range 25mm figures. As the warwagons are from what is really a historical novel and the model is 'wrong' in just about every way to the 'official' description by Xenophon anyway, thought I might as well keep it 'pure' and use Garrison horses.
