A lot of my purchases off eBay are of largish groups of figures, and/or ones that need a lot of work such as painting or stripping/painting.
Which still leaves plenty of small purchases. In this case a unit of 'S' Range Sudanese archers for the Nubian component of the Egyptian army. Only 10 figures, they were the major component of a recent buy, and all they really needed was some slight retouching on the legs, glossing and basing.
Not sure which Division they are going to join, Ptah probably has enough of these - could end up simply attaching them to the Pharaoh's chariot unit as a sort of guard unit?
A place where Ancient Ancient armies can peacefully retire to... Possibly. Oh, and some pulp. A few things on 6mm SciFi tanks and stuff. And the toy soldiers. Especially the War of 1897... And now I seem to be starting on 20mm Napoleonics as well! email GarrisonMiniatures@gmail.com

Ptah Division - a work in progress.
Mirroring the Egyptians themselves I'm placing my Egyptian army in 4 Divisions. The Amun Division has already been covered. Ptah is actually the 4th Division and I've put it as the 'levy and Nubians' Division. Originally they were supposed to have just a standard chariot unit but that could have meant leaving the Pharaoh a bit light. On that basis, Pharaoh took the 1st Chariot unit, all the others got bumped up a Division and Ptah finished up with nothing. Seemed too good an opportunity to miss - so Kushite Pharaoh/subordinate King plus Kushite chariot unit painted up.
The Division is quite a bit bigger than this - these are just the recently based or painted units. Most of the rest are finished but not quite accessible at the moment - it's a decorating thing.
The newly painted bits are the Kushite subordinate King (well, at least until 745BC) and the Division's chariot force.
Every Division has a unit of cavalry 'scouts'. In the case of the Ptah Division they are mounted on Garrison horses.
And the main infantry force consists of Nubian/Kushite archers. Being the last unit based, these are the 'poorer' painted/condition figures in the Division. Others include this lot.

'S' Range Nubians
I'm willing to admit to a slight mistake here. One of the things I'm doing at the moment is putting together the 'S' Range Egyptians. This is the army I got from Harry that needs most work. Firstly, I had some of my own. Second, I'm buying some off the Internet. Third, Harry's figures were themselves from several different and not always compatible sources.
Anyway, coming to do the Nubians I was convinced that assorted bows were part of the Hyborian Black Nations army, hence one of the reasons I painted up those Zulus...
The Black Nations army consists of 1 Rider general, 6 Rider cavalry and 5 Warband!
Coming back to the Nubians, several different figure sources and I didn't want to strip and repaint them all. So instead I've simply jumbled them up within the units. The officer and standard bearer in the 3Bw unit shown in the first photo are later EA figures. They are unmodified Internet additions - all I've done is give them a coat of varnish before basing.
I've based 2 units so far, a 24 figure 3Bw unit and a 12 figure 2Ps unit. A DBA Nubian army needs a couple of 3Wb elements, plenty of them lying around when I need them, so Egyptians have some useful allies plus a potential opponent sorted.
