Aircraft from the Adventures of Tintin (etc!)

 Following on from Aly's comment on the armoured car, there is a very useful series of books/transfers relating to the Tintin books. These are by Blue Rider Publishing. The etc is because, as the link shows, the publishers also make transfers and publish a lot of aircraft markings books and pdfs! Very useful are the Insignia magazine samples - haven't downloaded any magazines but, again, well worth looking at!

Slightly under A4 the Tintin ones are quite thin books/booklets - this one is a bit over 60 pages - but are full of information and colour drawings of the aircraft. As a pulp source I would consider them as just about indispensable.

I don't want to  put any more pictures here - better to follow the links, including looking at some of the sample pages from the Insignia magazine.

Vickers Crossley 1928

Another one of my 'quick' jobs. I've got three of these altogether but only one of them was to hand when I painted it. They are pretty reasonable pure wargames models from Frontline Wargaming and wanted for 20mm Pulp rather than WW2.

This one was even quicker than the Cataphracts - sprayed with a couple of coats od 'British Green' then black tyres and machine guns - which should probably have been left green, I just wanted to break the colour up a bit. Still needs some retouching.

Although the photo looks shaded, in reality it's a pretty uniform green. Being very close in colour to the black of the tyres and taking into account failing eyesight explains the need to retouch the model.

 

 

More Successor cataphracts.

 Mounted on super heavy cavalry bases as 4Kn. I'm still in a bit of a painting desert so I'm scratching around looking for a few odd items to just - well, paint quickly.

I wanted this to be a 4 element 16 figure unit - at the moment I can only fing 12 of the horse Iwant to use so it's stuck as a 3 element unit - know I've got extra horses somewhere (I think), just wanted to quickly get going again so the extras were sacrificed.

Simple dry-brushing paint scheme - it looks effective, dark and menacing.

The green on the horse armour is just reflections! This is one of the simplest and quickest units I've painted for a long time.

 

Back to converting - 20mm Napoleonic artillery

 I seem to have come to a slight stop with painting so switched to another aspect - converting. I had never intended to do a Napoleonic artillery mould but... why not.

Current state of affairs.

Austrians - still work to do on all of these with green stuff. Some may yet need to be completely redone!

Russians - making a multiple pose figure that can be cut as ramrod, portfire or standing around doing nothing saves a lot on mould space!

Bavarian - I'll probably include officers on all of these. Probably.

Wurtenburg. Not yet sure how many others still to do - Prussian, possibly Royal Horse Artillery?

Back on lockdown...

 Or shielding, or whatever...

Haven't got the 'official' government leter yet,but have got an email from Norflk County Council: 

Main points are:

'You will have received (or will be receiving very shortly) a letter from the Government advising you that as someone who is clinically extremely vulnerable, to protect your health you should:

• Do not go shopping or go to pharmacies
• Exercise outdoors where it is safe to do so
• You should also try to stay 2 metres away from other people within your household, especially if they display symptoms of the virus or have been advised to self-isolate
• Continue to attend your medical appointments that support your underlying health conditions'

So, even if they're not callingit shielding, I don't see much difference!

20mm Bavarians done.

 Sort of.  Think I missed a couple of things on the officer I should add.

Again, simplified version but look OK on the table.

Officer and standard bearer are both head swap conversions rather than cast conversions so may be a bit fragile.
