| Except for this figure. These lousy photos are of a couple of figures I've included on the Roman mould I've sent off to be made. They are Garrison - virtually the same pose and style as REC4. Helmet the same as REC2. Best guess? An original version of REC6 that was discontinued and replaced by the figure with the oval shield. At some stage a unit of these will be joining the army! |
With this unit finished it's time to tidy up the painting area ready for the Christmas tree to go up, so no more painting until January.
May not be your most favourite figure but painted and ranked up they make a good looking unit, very nice work,

DeleteWaves of nostaligia over here because that Roman range was one of the very first metal figures I owned - though I could never afford such a big and impressive unit as that! They do look good - very dynamic - a fine finish to the year.

ReplyDeleteDecades ago I wasn't keen on the pose, (I wanted the spears pointing at the enemy) but its grown on me.
I suppose spear arm could be bent, but I just tend to leave them as cast.
