Building up the Clibinarii

I seem to have slowed a bit with my painting recently. This lot have been sitting around for months...

I'm thinking this year could be Sassanids, Byzantines and Goths. At least, that's the current plan. The Sassanids have been limping along for quite a while so I hope they'll keep going...

  1. They look great, really must get on with mine but still ploughing through 20mil Naps at the moment.

    1. They're quite pretty. Got plenty of elephants, enough clibinarii to field, just need light cavalry and infantry...

  2. Those are mighty long lances, or are they called Kontos?

    1. They are armed with Kontos, which were about 12' long. This lot have ones 80mm long which is roughly 19' long, so yeah, 'mighty long' just about does it.

  4. One of my all time favourite Garrison figures. I had them in my first Achaemenid Persian army not realising they were Sassanid.

    1. I like quite a few of the old Garrisons... probably a bit biased though.
