Paint pens and Dacians

Started using the new paint pens. They're ones with a 'brush' tip one end, 'fine' tip the other end - much easier to use than my last lot, better range of colours and comes with a colour chart. Like them.

One problem is that I'm tending to go overboard  with checks and things all over the place. Plain seems to have gone out of the window as far as Dacians and Gauls are concerned!

Any way, it's another unit of Dacian warriors finished.

  1. The paint pens work really well and certainly make for colourful units, nice work on the Dacians.

  2. Rob -
One feels a certain added interest in the fate of the more colourful units, don't you think? I rather like the spectacle of that horde of Gauls and Dacians!

I have a few acrylic marker pens myself, though these have 'bullet' and 'chisel' ends - less accommodating for figures. One thing I have noticed is that they give very good coverage, even over black.

    1. The yellows are very good at covering black compared to 'normal' paints.

  4. That set of 48 cost me £12,33 from Amazon - well worth it if you accept the limitations. There are places a paintbrush will go that a paint pen just can't reach!

  5. The 'penwork' looks really good, and lots of checks are what's needed for Celts.

    1. Think there's a lot more checks in the pens for the future!
