A place where Ancient Ancient armies can peacefully retire to...
Possibly.
Oh, and some pulp. A few things on 6mm SciFi tanks and stuff. And the toy soldiers. Especially the War of 1897... And now I seem to be starting on 20mm Napoleonics as well!

Hills
Terrain has always been a weakness of mine. I'm currently trying to rectify this is some ways, the latest being the acquisition of a few hills.
With big bases and small or plastic figures I still like the painted cloth over wooden shapes or books.
For our 25mm ancients and colonials, a freind of mine used to layout a 6x8 table, all geohex, complete with sunken rivers, gentle hills, plateaus and towering cliffs stretching more than 9" over a pass but with gentler slopes behind. Those days are long gone!
These hills of yours look good and look practical. Just the thing, esp for ancients.
Rob - One can never have too much by way of terrain. I don't go for 'model railway' quality - functional is my speed - but I keep plenty by. One never knows what kind of country one might have to fight in... Cheers, Ion.
Actually buying loads of model railway buildings for pulp scenarios... but second hand/ready made only. Again, functional - it's the game that counts with that (or, with masses of Ancients, it's the spectacle that matters!)
Splendid Rob...
ReplyDeleteYou have reminded me where I saw these... thank you 😃
All the best. Aly
They're quite basic but very functional 'Old School' - I use S&A a lot.

Practical is the word. I've tried cloths over books before but admit I was never really happy with them.
