As well as the Assyrians at the head of this blog I had the beginnings of a Lamming Egyptian army. Although I have posted about them before it was a few years ago and I didn't do them as a Review.

Though one reason for this is that it is quite a small army...

Have to admit I liked the ground effect on the bases of some of these.

This shows the difference between the early Lamming spearman and the later one with separate spears and shields.

Size-wise the army looks a lot bigger if I include a unit of the spearmen that I had designed (these are the ones that were supposed to be compatible with Garrison 20mm!)

Love them! I have to say, however, that I mistook the later Lamming spearmen for a regiment of militant penguins when seen from a distance! Time for some new glasses.....
ReplyDeleteGot some penguins. 6' tall blind penguins that live in a cave in Antarctica. Something else lives in that cave. I believe there was a scientific expedition there back in the 20s or 30s...
DeleteNice little army. Now all you need are some 'Hittites' or maybe Canaanites to go up against them...
ReplyDeleteStrangely got some Canaanites and Philistines lying around unpainted (apart from the Minifigs ones) - can't remember who they're by, acquired just before I got Garrison - they're more 28mm than 25mm.
DeleteVery nice Rob... I am rather fond of Lamming miniatures.
ReplyDeleteAll the best. Aly
Horses basically scaled up Garrison and figures improved with time. Bill would also mix and match to order so they were very versatile. Very solid, very workmanlike. They were good figures that did the job well though with scale creep tended to crowd bases!
DeleteI have a painted lamming Egyptian army I never use., would you be interested in it?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the offer, but I think I'll have to pass on that... if anything, I think I really need to start losing a few armies rather than building ones up!
DeleteGreat looking Egyptians!
