Didn't spend anything at Partizan because I was saving my pennies - lots of nice cheap 1/87th scale buildings on ebay to enlarge my 'collection' of these. |

Side view... My target was to get a lot of multi-storey buildings to act as a town centre. |

Quite a good block of buildings - price averaged out at under £10 per building, so relatively cheap! |

They should add a lot to my current collection. |
Most of my previous figures have appeared as a backdrop rather than the main area. The set up here was from when I finished my harbour and did an H.G.Wells scenario, 'The Sea Raiders'. |
Of course, it's more a way to expand my 'Little town in Germany' to make a 'bigger town in Germany'... |
Have used some buildings for a representation of the real Dunwich... |
So, a major upgrade to buildings at a pretty good price suitable for 20mm games... just have to use them....
Kibri makes (made?) great buildings! :-)
ReplyDeleteThey look pretty good.
DeleteThat is a seriously impressive load of real estate, very nice and a very decent price indeed.
ReplyDeleteA lot cheaper than buying new kits that have to be made up... and, as you say, very decent price.
DeleteThirty buildings plus what you already have, will make a seriously impressive urban table. Bring on the street fighters...
ReplyDeleteIt's a game changer. A couple of hundred on buildings sounds a lot in one chunk, but in reality less than I spent on figures last year (year before? time a erratic) just on Crooked Dice figures!
DeleteI like Dunwich. Rare you see a hotel you've stayed in represented in a wargame.
ReplyDeleteHad a meal there, never stayed. It's a nice coastline - not too far away though better for a weekend stay, slightly too far for a day trip though doable.
DeleteCome to think of it, I have stayed there too! There's a great book called Men of Dunwich if you are interested in the place..
DeleteI'm thinking that, for any Lovecraft fan, it should be obligatory to visit the 'original'... perhaps not quite as a pilgrimage unless you take on the Mythos as a religion but...
DeleteI particularly like the first batch, Rob - very Central European/Germanic looking - just the style I need for future "Into the lair of the Fascist Beast" type games with my 28mm Red Army - can't use 1/87 though, unfortunately!
ReplyDelete28mm would be pushing it a bit... though I've actuually used the 28mm Sarissa Manor House for 42mm figures and it worked!
DeleteAhhh, the old Infantry Combat Group. One of my 1st Airfix sets and thus sentimental.
ReplyDeleteThat is an impressive town!
Actually they're Rose figures! https://easterngarrison.blogspot.com/2019/08/the-176th-lovecraft-army.html
DeleteThose buildings look great! Really look the part.
ReplyDeleteThank you. They should do the job.
DeleteI think that definitely counts as a win - it seems that eBay can sometimes be a boon to our hobby.
ReplyDeleteIt can, but there are rules I like to follow. Firstly, where possible buy things that can be grouped together or collections. On a £7 building postage is a massive bump up in the price as a percentage! Second, make offers if you can. And finally, of course, only buy the quality and price you need. You need to shop around - most vendors charge between £25 and £50 for the same buildings I bought! I go for second hand buildings so I don't have to make them up, and I'm not super concerned about quality for buildings that are for mass effect rather than as specimens in their own right!
