Prussian cuirassiers, 1st Regiment

Uniform details and flag taken from the Greenwood and Ball/Garrison booklet 'Uniforms of the Seven Years War'. A slightly enlarged second edition  is available from 18th Century Press and has nothing to do with me!

Anyway, finally got round to finishing a Cuirassier regiment:

Two companies made up a squadron. Or it could representing two of the five squadrons in the regiment.

The standard is from page 11 of  the booklet.

7PC1 Cuirassier officer

7PC2 Cuirassier

7PC3 Trumpeter. The trim is silver with two lines alternating yellow and red. There should be some blue triangles in there somewhere but I didn't bother with them...

7PC4 Standard bearer. No idea what colour the ribbon should be, probably red, but I've just done it the same as the trumpeter's trim.

So with a squadron of cavalry finished, perhaps I'll be able to speed up a bit...

  4. These are particularly nice figures, I like the way the troopers seem to be arrogantly expecting their opponents to just run away rather than put up a fight - just perfect for Seydlitz's magnificent men.

    1. They do have a way of carrying themselves, don't they?

  5. Nice looking unit. They do have a certain and appropriate arrogance to them! :-) I have posted standards for the unit here: https://nba-sywtemplates.blogspot.com/2021/04/leuthen-prussian-flags-project.html in case you are interested in an "upgrade". ;-)

    1. Had I known of this page it would have made a difference... Probably just let things stand as they are. Now doing the 3rd Dragoon regiment - again, uniform and standard in booklet!

    1. Thank you. Think other people are happier with them than I am. Must readjust my thought patterns.
