A place where Ancient Ancient armies can peacefully retire to... Possibly. Oh, and some pulp. A few things on 6mm SciFi tanks and stuff. And the toy soldiers. Especially the War of 1897... And now I seem to be starting on 20mm Napoleonics as well! email GarrisonMiniatures@gmail.com
Classics if a little inaccurate.
ReplyDeleteHappily, accuracy is not my number 1 priority - the mass of coloured illustrations are :)
DeleteBrilliant books !
ReplyDeleteFor my purposes, do I need anything else? Well, apart from the fact I seem to be using the Cassin-Scott Blandford book as much!
DeleteAgreed. I've got paperbacks of the English language versions, and, inaccuracies aside, the illustrations are a wonedr to behold. My maternal grandparents presented them to me on my 22nd birthday way back in the heady 1980s.

Mine at latest early 70s - fact is, can't remember when, could be late 70s.
DeleteMy old battered French copies challenged my school boy French back in the early 70s. Now I just look at the pictures.
ReplyDeleteAs I am collecting classic 20mm Napoleonics it's only right that I use these books as my core reference, inaccuracies and all.
Good point...
DeleteTop books - I have mine to hand right now!
ReplyDeleteI think most people interested in Napoleonics had Funcken.
DeleteI have book 2 also. Happy with it.
