This is that late Persian light cavalry unit. By my reckoning I need one more... |
Armies of the Macedonian and Punic Wars says that late Persian light cavalry were armed with two javelins made of cornel wood - as Garrison didn't make such a figure these ones are conversions. |
Bright, light and full of purpose.

I tried to avoid red!
DeleteVery nice looking unit, I like them a lot.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Yes, they turned out OK.
DeleteVery nice unit! Just working on my own Persian cavalry, but the HaT figures for these have mainly bows. Hmm, could try a conversion, or just assume they are from some backwoods satrapy and didn't get the memo (scroll, tablet?)... 😀
ReplyDeleteLooking at HaT, might be better to use the medium cavalry rather than the light cavalry?
DeleteGood point, thanks. it is a DBA-size army, so in fact only 4 Light Cavalry figures in all(!), and looking at what I've got only two actually have bows. One will be easily converted to (brush-bristle) javelins and I think the other one can be a backwoods yokel who is still using a bow! But I'll note all this for future expansions of the army..
Delete'One more', that's what I usually reckon, but like tomorrow that last one never comes.
ReplyDeleteTrue. On the other hand, I still have a lot of other figures to do so...
