A place where Ancient Ancient armies can peacefully retire to...
Possibly.
Oh, and some pulp. A few things on 6mm SciFi tanks and stuff. And the toy soldiers. Especially the War of 1897... And now I seem to be starting on 20mm Napoleonics as well!

Garrison display boards
Something from the past. Garrison had a load of figures mounted in display cases for conventions, etc. They aren't/weren't in very good condition, but here's some photos I took of them.
Very nice - myself I was rather taken with the ancient camel riders. Somehow Garrison are inextricably linked in my mind to old school ancients books by Charles Grant.
Probably from 'The Ancient War Game', most of the figures are Garrison. Apart from the front cover which were all Hinchliffe! Grant did a lot of work for Greenwood and Ball/Garrison.
That is very interesting, nice to see them. So many lovely figures on show there, the Napoleonics are especially very nice.
ReplyDeleteThere are some very nicely painted figures there!
DeleteA bit of wargaming history , I remember peering at displays like this at wargaming shows
ReplyDeleteStill do. Salute's coming up...
DeleteFantastic piece of history - some lovely paint jobs, especially on the Pesians - having just painted a few too!
ReplyDeleteIt's good to paint Persians. I must do more of them :)
DeleteFascinating, l love the brushwork on those Highlanders!
ReplyDeleteEveryone has their favourites!
