1897 Armies update

When I'm building armies there comes a time when I think 'It would be nice to see them all set up.' After all, that's one of the best parts of building a collection of something - seeing it all set out. The arrival of the painted Irregular figures made me think it would be a good time to do it, so...

The two armies facing forward, British to the front, French to the rear.
More usual situation - facing each other.

The British. Cavalry lancers and Scots Greys on right, Scottish light horse on left. Front right flank Guards Brigade backed by Scots Brigade. Left flank line Brigade backed by Militia.

The French. Curassiers and Dragoons on right, Chasseurs and Hussars on left. Right flank infantry Zouves, left flank line.

  1. Looking good.

It always amazes me how quickly armies can grow.

Despite their self-confidence, looks like the French could use some friends.

  2. All within 4 months so far. As for armies, still plenty to do - not least is the fact that the Great War involved an invasion by Russia as well, so lots more just with them...

    1. Very tempting is one way of describing it - they keep on tempting me to buy and paint more and more of the things.
