The End of Days

That's what a lot of people were thinking.

It was a quiet day on the outskirts of a little town in Germany, the only sounds being from the guns of some hunters shooting away next to a small copse.

The quiet was shattered as a large crack appeared in a field... the hunters and some of the townsfolk rushed to the gaping chasm to see what was happening...

Suddenly a horde of giant, caterpillar-like creatures swarmed out of the pit and started to attack the assembled citizens...

As the creatures swiftly overpowered and start devouring an unfortunate young lady the hunters manage to dispatch one.

More of the creatures started to appear.

The townsfolk flee in panic as another unfortunate succumbs to the monsters assault.

As one of the hunters flees more of the monsters fall to the guns of the hunters

Finally the monsters facing the hunters retreat back to the pit as others continue to feast on the two victims...

And thus the first attack ended. Meanwhile news started to  come in of more incidents throughout the world... the first skirmish was over but the war was just beginning...

  1. Yikes... something particularly creepy about the swarm of grubs pouring out of the ground.

    1. Any time he (or she) wants to - one of the advantages of time travel. Except when the script has a totally random reason why s/he can't of course.

    1. Possibly - there are hints of these creatures in various mystic tomes such as 'De Vermis Mysteriis by Ludwig Prinn, worth trying to get your hands on a copy but should only be read after you have been innoculated by exposure to the works of Sutter Cane.

    1. I prefer 28mm for some of it - 20mm certainly better for larger townh building though. They both have their advantages and disadvantages.
