A Scythian test piece

Thought I'd do another test piece To try out the paint pens...
The white paint didn't work so well as too much came out...

HOWEVER...

I remembered that the Assyrians used Cimmerian and Scythian mercenaries and allies, so I've undercoated a load of Scythians to join the Assyrian army...

    1. I think the word is garish. Perhaps that's my new style for these?

  2. You can certainly add a fair bit of detail using those pens, a horde of them will look very impressive.

    1. Hope so. The pens save a lot of time over using a paint brush.

  4. It's a classic little model - those pens are certainly coming in handy - very nice - it's going to be quite an eye-catching unit when it's done.

    1. There main effect is speed - some jobs that are fiddly with a paint brush are easier using the pens, plus they dry quickly so you don't have the waiting time between coats. Finally, it's less messy - no opening jars or having to clean brushes.
