| It should also be pointed out that the Review in 2020 totalled 984 infantry. The two infantry posts so far have passed the 1000 figure mark. |

| Centre... Note the Scythians are 6 figures per element, all the othersare 8 figures per element. There are a total of 63 sparabara elements. If you work on the original 20 men per figure that would be just under 10,000 men...of course, if you go by the DBX ratio, roughly 250 x 534 = 133,500... |

My Garrison Persian army is quite big - quite a bit bigger that my Minifigs one...

DeleteAmazing stuff and all very inspiring. If you go with the 133,000 estimate, you are getting into the realms of the army sizes suggested by some of the ancient sources - so you are very much keeping to the spirit of those mighty Persian hosts!

DeleteThe total infantry count of the entire army is about 2,000 excluding any Greeks. At the 'original' WRG 20:1 ratio that gives an army of 40, infantry - plus, of course, over 500 cavalry representing 10,000 cavalry. On the other hand, going with the DBX system where 1 figure is about 250 men - total force would be 500,000 infantry and 125,000 cavalry! No idea when SOME of them will next see action.
