Not quite Immortal then

Some of my early armies have been badly neglected over the last few years. Sometimes it's a lost spear, sometimes more. I don't really want to post a picture of Cyrus in his current state, much better to remember him as he appeared on the first blog.

One of my next projects really must be to look at by mid 70s Hinchliffe Immortal units.

This mob seems to have lost it's spears

Should be easy to sort

Don't ask about the bird. I've forgotten the answer
And yes, in those days I painted the eyes.
At least one of my units was still operational...

  1. Nice models. Looks like some overhauling must be done...Spears are easy to fix...just some needles.

  2. Most of the original spears are still around but I might fit brass ones with spearheads - my method back then was to represent the spearhead with a blob of paint.

    1. I do the same but use plastic brittles from a broom ( the red one for outdoor use). They bend but do not use paint and keep in shape again. And on the positive side cost next to nothing when buyind in a DIY store

    2. I probably think along the lines of 'If it moves, salute it, if it doesn't, paint it.
