Hykranian Horse Archers

First time I've managed to get past undercoating these figures - I always assumed that I would have paint them in lots of different browns. Figures are a mix of Hykranian and Mongol - makes it a much better unit - with the officer being a Mongol.

This time I said 'fantasy, going for bright colours'. Seems to have worked OK. Paint job better than the photos though!

Next thing is to try the lancer figures.

  1. They have turned out really well, a very nice unit, good choice on the colours too, they really "pop"

    1. They look fine, but still glad it's a fantasy army! I'm probably always going to be guilty about painting fur cloaks in bright colours though!

  3. Fantasy or otherwise, I still stand firmly in the 'Bright Colours' school of war games armies. Spectacle is a great part of the enjoyment of war games!

  4. Lovely dynamic figures and they look splendid in those colours! Are these the single piece castings that I seem to remember?
