Conversions painted (sort of)

As in, pretty rough to give me an impression to see what the finished article should look like.
Actually they all look pretty good.

Figures like this do appear in combat on Persian friezes wearing red robes. Figure is workable and should be a good one to back up the mounted guard figure it's converted from.

Like this one but it needs some work. Firstly, the head. It's a bit small.. yet the head on the cavalry figure is bigger... copy a figur then copy the copy it's usually a bit smaller - obviously the cavalry head was taken from an earlier, figure I made! Perhaps I should go back to the original officer figure. The cloak needs to be pulled back nearer the body, I need to consider size/placement of bowcase... sounds a lot but just tweeking. Also need to make a better job on the goatskin cloak. A standard G3 with this headswap should make a decent Hollywood style late Philistine...

Like this figure but should probably have used a different lower half. In terms of numbers needed, the Minifigs PB version exists as LI, LMI and MI  in 48 man units... The red showing through really emphasises the speed and generally slapdash painting on these!

The back view is the important one. That belted waist looks pretty good - good useable figure.

Of course I've already done some of these - think I prefer the individual feathers on my others, but these do the job. Verdict is out on which to go for, perhaps a mix of both. Did this very simple paint job for quickness but it looks OK - might go for it in future...

    1. To be fair, it was the safest being a simple head swap on an original Garrison figure - technically the original was a conversion, but just a case of making a two piece casting into a one piece casting to make it easier to make.
