Didn't get to do any work on the cruiser today (went out to a nearby safari park...) but took a photo to show one possible layout - just to give an idea.

Nice thought - though I tend to count things like that as assumed. So it would be a good possibility - though depends on how I could fit them in.

It's my 'current best option', though haven't finalised a design for the wheelhouse/bridge - thart's where it might be possible to put some kind og mg?

I did consider that kind of thing as an option - the Reviresco kit HMS Terror has projecting positions - but basically decided against because it's more complicated and doesn't look as good.
